We hereby inform you that on 1 September 2017 Slovenia will start using phytosanitary certificate forms that are preprinted on new paper of light blue colour with additional safety items, including a watermark (Slovenian coat of arms), and particles, which are visible only under the UV lamp. The new protected paper is intended for official use of the NPPO - Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection. Additional protection against counterfeiting and fraud is also the fluorescent printing of certificate's number, which cannot be copied or scanned. The form and text of the certificates has not been changed. See the specimens enclosed.
Current pre-printed forms of export phytosanitary certificate and phytosanitary certificate for re-export will still be in use by the end of 2017. So, in a transitional period from 1 September to 31 December 2017 both versions will be in circulation.
By 1 January 2018, all export consignments, which will be certified in Slovenia, will be accompanied exclusively by phytosanitary certificates, printed on protected paper. Interested NPPOs of importing countries can request paper specimens for authenticity verification.
Phytosanitary certificates for export and phytosanitary certificates for re-export are issued by the NPPO of the Republic of Slovenia for the plants, plant products or regulated articles according to requirements of importing country, the ISPM 12 and the ISPM 32.
Publication of import requirements of your country at the IPP country profile is very much appreciated.
