Short Description

E. amylovora is a bacterium that can infect a wide range of plant species and its infection causes serious damage. The bacterium is not known to occur in Japan. The first outbreak of the bacterium was reported from the Republic of Korea on 29 May, 2015. To prevent the introduction of the bacterium into Japan, Japan has suspended the importation of host plants and plant parts (including fruit, flower and pollen, other than seed) of E. amylovora from the Republic of Korea since 1 June, 2015.
