Two new IPPC Diagnostic Protocols Adopted!

Two new Diagnostic Protocols (DPs) on Ditylenchus destructor and Ditylenchus dipsaci, and Genus Anastrepha Schiner - DP 8 and DP 9, respectively – were adopted by the Standards Committee on behalf of the CPM as Annexes to ISPM 27 (Diagnostic protocols for regulated pests). These two draft DPs were subject to the IPPC 45-days notification period, which closed on 15 August 2015.The complete list of all adopted DPs are on the IPP.

2015 TPDP meeting report posted!

The Technical Panel on Diagnostic Protocols (TPDP) met in Shanghai, China, organized by the IPPC Secretariat and hosted by the NPPO of China. The TPDP reviewed their work programme which includes 27 diagnostic protocols (DPs); most of these will be submitted for adoption within the next 3-4 years. This means an enormous workload for all involved.

Five draft DPs were thoroughly discussed, including consideration of the comments received from the expert consultations held in 2015, and will be forwarded to the Standards Committee. Notification period on draft Diagnostic Protocols opened today!

The Notification period for the following draft diagnostic protocols (DPs) has started today.

  1. Ditylenchus destructor and Ditylenchus dipsaci (2004-017)
  2. Phytoplasmas (2004-018)
  3. Genus Anastrepha (2004-015)

Contracting parties have 45 days starting from 1 July to 15 August 2015 to review the approved DP and submit a formal objection, if any. The formal objection should be a technically supported objection to the adoption of the approved diagnostic protocol in its current form, sent through the official IPPC contact point.

First Expert Consultation on draft Diagnostic Protocols in 2015 is now open on the IPP!

The First Expert Consultation on draft Diagnostic Protocols in 2015 is now open on the on IPP for:

Fusarium moniliformis / moniforme syn. F. circinatum (2006-021)

Phytophthora ramorum (2004-013)

Dendroctonus ponderosae syn. Scolytus scolytus (2006-019)

The closing date is 24 April 2015.

The list of adopted DPs is growing! Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) is adopted.

The Standards Committee (SC) on behalf of the CPM has adopted one new Diagnostic Protocol (DP): Annex to ISPM 27. (Diagnostic protocols for regulated pests): Potato spindle tuber viroid. Up to now, seven diagnostic protocols were adopted by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM). The list of adopted DPs is posted at https://www.ippc.int/core-activities/standards-setting/expert-drafting-groups/technical-panels/technical-panel-diagnostic-protocols.

The draft diagnostic protocol (DP) was under the 45-days notification period, which closed on 30 January 2015.

Nominations are being solicited by the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) for authors of two IPPC diagnostic protocols (DPs) as outlined below: - Puccinia psidi (2006-018) - Striga spp. (2008-009) Nominations are due 15 Jannuary 2015. Authors will work in liaison with the member of the Technical Panel on Diagnostic Protocols (TPDP) in charge of this protocols to develop two draft protocols as annexes to ISPM 27:2006 (Diagnostic Protocols for Regulated Pests) with English as primary language of the draft. Two draft DPs under 45-days Notification period

The Standard Committee (SC) approved, via e-decision, to submit two draft diagnostic protocols (DPs), Phyllosticta citricarpa (McAlpine) Aa on fruit (2004-023) and Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (2004-011) to the 45-days notification period. Contracting parties are invited to review the drafts and submit their comments from 1 July 2014 until 15 August 2014.
