The draft Ministerial declaration for CPM-15 (2020) is now open for comments

The IPPC Online Comment System (OCS) was upgraded to a new 6.4 version today, 1st July 2019. The new user interface and enhanced system’s features will facilitate the process of drafting and submitting comments by IPPC contact points.
The main enhancement for users include:
• In-line editor of comments (fixed right-hand comment box disappeared, with improved system’s usability).
• Possibility to format the text of the document (basic fonts, italic, bold, underlined, insertion of special characters, etc.).
• You can always edit your comment and delete your own comments.
• Access to the paragraph history.
• Like/dislike comments feature.

Launched in 2016, the new IPPC Online Comment System (OCS) continues to strengthen IPPC Official Contracting Party participation in developing international standards for phytosanitary measures. 2017 has not only seen an increase in the number of IPPC users providing comments (see graph above), it also has seen the highest number of standards out for consultation in IPPC history – 17! The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce that the number of countries commenting has almost doubled from 2011 (see graph above).This July, the IPPC Secretariat opened consultation periods through the new Online Comment System (OCS) for the highest number of standards ever processed by the IPPC Secretariat during a consultation period. Starting on 1 July 2016 the IPPC Community will be using the new Online Comment System (OCS) to provide comments on draft standards, thus enhancing the transparency and inclusiveness of the standard setting process. With that said, the IPPC Secretariat is delighted to highlight an unprecedented total of 17 drafts going for simultaneous consultation further emphasizing the importance and significance of each country’s comments.

The IPPC Secretariat is happy to announce that FAO has purchased a software for a new Online Comment System (OCS) from PleaseTech following a thorough procurement process. The system, called PleaseReview, will enable IPPC members to share and submit comments on draft standards with the click of a button, and the IPPC Secretariat to manage consultation processes by automating notifications, compiling comments in an easy and efficient manner, and providing data for analysis.

In accordance with the Process for developing and adopting CPM Recommendations as revised by CPM-10 (2015), the IPPC Secretariat has opened the Proposed draft CPM Recommendation on the importance of pest diagnosis for comments. Comments should be submitted by IPPC official contact points through the Online Comment System and they are due by 24 November 2015.

The IPPC 2015 substantial concerns commenting (SCCP) period has started today, 1st June 2015.
The SCCP ends on 30 September 2015 and the IPPC Secretariat must have received all comments before that date.
Comments should be submitted through the IPPC Online Comment System (OCS), where draft ISPMs are posted.
The following draft ISPMs are open for the substantial concerns commenting period (SCCP):

The IPPC Secretariat through the FAO Procurement team has submitted a Request For Information through a Public Notice on the website of the United Nations General Market (UNGM), with the purpose of obtaining information on the availability of software products to replace the current IPPC Online Comment System (OCS).
