This manual provides tips and good practices to support participants, particularly contracting parties, that will be participating in a session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM). It describes the CPM and provides recommendations on how to prepare and participate in these sessions, and how to follow up after the CPM session. The guide also presents an overview of the IPPC organizational structure and clarifies various procedural steps involved in facilitating international phytosanitary policy. The guide highlights that CPM sessions are not the only way that contracting parties may participate in IPPC activities and offers a wide range of suggestions to facilitate their active participation in IPPC processes and decisions.
