Краткое описание

B.xanthodes was detected in Tuvalu in one of the outer-island namely Niulakita in 2009.Up to date, the department is still continued to carry out the surveillance and monitoring the status on all the islands. However, movement of ripening fruits out of Niulakita is strictly prohibited.

Опасность

This fruit fly present only in one island but not other islands of the group, therefore, the department has to ensure safe movement of fruits out of Niulakita, strengthen and maintain good relationship with the island community and perhaps increase awareness over the radio to the public in order to avoid & prevent the spread of B.xanthodes to other islands.
