How guides and training materials are developed

Topics for the development of new implementation resources and the revision of existing implementation resources should be submitted by NPPOs and RPPOs through the Call for Topics. Submitted proposals are reviewed and presented to CPM for approval before they are added to the List of Implementation and Capacity Development Topics.

Process for the Development of IPPC Guides and Training Materials

IPPC Guides and Training Materials are developed by working groups comprised of selected international experts, under the auspices of the IPPC Secretariat, and with the oversight of the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC).

The development of guides and training materials follows a documented process that is designed to be open, transparent and inclusive. This process assists in the development of high quality and consistent guides and training materials that are targeted to meet specific needs identified by the IPPC community. NPPOs and RPPOs are encouraged to contribute to the development of IPPC Guides and training materials by submitting comments on draft Specifications, nominating experts to participate in the working groups, responding to calls for case studies, and partnering with the IPPC Secretariat to translate these materials to more FAO languages.
