REGISTRATION OF COMPETENT METHYL BROMIDE FUMIGATORS IN INDONESIA

Since the year of 2004, Agency for Agriculture Quarantine of Republic Indonesis (IAQA) have begun to open the registration for the fumigation companies under the “AQA - Fumigation accreditation scheme". The registered fumigators are given the registration number for their identities, namely “AFASID xxx". The objective of the registration program is to get assurance of work quality of the fumigators. In order to be registered as a competent fumigator, the company must meet the AQA Standard Requirements as follows : 1. Administrative aspects ; must have all the required document for the operation of fumigation company, company documentation and organization structure. 2. Technical aspects ; competent operators, equipments & standard procedures of fumigation. 3. The most important point is the registered fumigator must able to perform fumigation under AQA standard. There are some registered fumigators in various places with their respective service areas. The number of registered fumigators may change any time due to several reasons including the new registered companies. Attached is the list of registered fumigators in Indonesia as per 31 January 2005.
