Brief Biography
Fitzroy leads the implementation of activities related to Phytosanitary Capacity Evaluations (PCE) and was the PCE facilitator for Barbados, St. Lucia, Fiji, Mongolia and Nepal. He supports the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) team on PCE and coordinates reviewing of PCE modules and improvement of the PCE tools.
Fitzroy has a wealth of experience in plant health, from 27 years working in the Plant Quarantine Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jamaica. He has also served on various national and international committees on plant health.
He has a post graduate diploma in managing agriculture and rural development from the University of the West Indies and from the College of Agriculture in Portland, Jamaica, and an Associates of Science degree in agriculture.
Fitzroy is currently completing a master’s degree in Tropical Crop Protection from the University of the West Indies
