The IPPC Secretariat is soliciting reference materials and discussion papers in preparation for the meeting of the Focus Group on Commodity and Pathway Standards, which will take place 3-5 October in Rome, Italy.

As laid out in their Terms of Reference, the Focus Group is tasked with analyzing and discussing multiple aspects of the development of commodity and pathway specific standards, and to develop recommendations and guidance for the CPM.

In order for the focus group to effectively address their tasks, CPM-13 (2018) requested IPPC contracting parties, Regional Plant Protection Organizations (RPPOs) and other interested parties to submit reference materials providing practical examples of commodity or pathway standards and their application.

In addition, CPM-13 also requested country comments on the questions posed by the Standards Committee (SC) in their CPM-13 paper on conceptual challenges of commodity and pathway specific standards.

Discussion papers and reference materials should be submitted by 31 August 2018 to the IPPC Secretariat ([email protected]). Thank you for your kind cooperation.
