Short Description

The Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service which has now attained a status of a department in the Ministry of Agriculture, is the National Plant Protection Organization of Zambia with the mandate to prevent the introduction and spread of plant pests in the country. Not until 1st February, 2021, the Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service used to fall under the Zambia Agriculture Research Institute as a Unit. Positioning of the Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service as a department has come with the befitting structural changes.
