Call for Implementation and Capacity Development projects

Purpose

The IPPC Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) is reaching out to the plant health community to collect, consolidate and share phytosanitary implementation and capacity development (ICD) project information. This initiative intends to promote global ‘best practice’ principles, maximize research and development investment, promote project synergies, minimize duplication and facilitate networking opportunities amongst plant health professionals.

To do so in a structured way, the IC agreed upon a Strategy and Process on how the IC reviews and analyses Implementation and Capacity Development projects.To implement this strategy and process, the IPPC Secretariat is soliciting information regarding ongoing Phytosanitary projects at national, regional and global level.

Who can apply?

National Plant Protection Organizations, Regional Plant Protection Organizations, FAO regional and sub-regional offices, resource partners, implementing organizations and donor agencies.

How to submit project information?

Respondents are invited to fill in the project description template and:

Deadline: 31 March 2023.

How will the information be used?

Information received will be reviewed and analyzed by the IC members and IPPC Secretariat, which will further communicate with respondents if the project is relevant for the phytosanitary community.

The projects selected by the IC members will be briefly presented during the IC May Meetings (15-19 May 2023), during which a dedicated session on projects will be open to observers. Project description templates and presentations of the selected projects will be posted on the Implementation and Capacity Development Projects page.

In addition, listed technical resources in the project description template that could be useful for the phytosanitary community will be reviewed by the IC Team on Contributed Resources and may be posted on the Contributed Resources page.
