Географическое распространение
Australia has previously notified that Liriomyza sativae was Present: subject to official control in Torres Strait (AUS-65/2). Liriomyza sativae has now been detected on mainland Australia on Cape York Peninsula in Queensland’s Far Northern Biosecurity Zones (FNBZ), and is regulated under the Biosecurity Act 2014 (Qld). Control measures for Liriomyza sativae are attached.
Краткое описание

Eradication of Liriomyza sativae from the Queensland's Far Northern Biosecurity Zones (FNBZ) is not considered technically feasible and phytosanitary measures have been implemented to prevent the spread of the pest to other areas of the Australian mainland and Tasmania. Annual plant health surveys are conducted throughout Northern Australia and Torres Strait to monitor target pests, including Liriomyza sativae. The pest is wind borne and can be moved by humans on plant material. The FNBZ is a largely underdeveloped area of native bushland offering substantive geographic separation from the closest agricultural zones.

Опасность
Liriomyza sativae is a polyphagous pest of many vegetable and flower crops. It has been recorded from nine plant families, although its preferred hosts tend to be in the Cucurbitaceae, Fabaceae and Solanaceae families. It is a pest of economic importance and has the potential to become economically damaging to a wide variety of ornamental and common horticultural crops.
