Detected in tomatoes. ToBRFV is an exotic plant disease that affects tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum), capsicum (Capsicum annuum) and chillies (C. frutescens and C. chinense).

ToBRFV is currently only known to be present in a single property in glasshouse grown tomatoes in Victoria. ToBRFV is not known to occur in all other states and territories, or other areas of Victoria. Australian states and territories that are free of the virus have implemented regulations and/or Official Control programs to maintain their pest free status.
Краткое описание

In Australia, ToBRFV was first detected in 2024 in commercially grown glasshouse Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) plants in South Australia.

Following an eradication attempt, ToBRFV is currently considered Present in Australia: not widely distributed and under Official Control.

Following tracing activities, enforcement of mandatory phytosanitary regulation and the application of mandatory phytosanitary procedures, ToBRFV is currently only known to be present in a single property in glasshouse grown tomatoes in Victoria.

All other states and territories in Australia, and other areas of Victoria, are considered free of the virus.

Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) affects field and greenhouse grown tomato and capsicum crops. Tomato plants infected with the virus are typically substantially less productive and produce poor-quality unmarketable fruit.
