Report: Effective February 25, 2021, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) removed the regulated area for Globodera rostochiensis (Golden Nematode) in the province of Alberta.

The CFIA determined that the regulated area was free of Golden Nematode using the Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) assessment criteria stated in Appendix 5 of the 2014 Canada and United States Guidelines on Surveillance and Phytosanitary Actions for the Potato Cyst Nematodes, Globodera rostochiensis and Globodera pallida.

The province of Alberta is now considered to be free of Potato Cyst Nematodes.

Following the guidelines of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures 8 (Determination of pest status in an area), Globodera rostochiensis is considered to be present in Canada: not widely distributed and under official control.

Rapport : Le 25 février 2021, l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a abandonné le contrôle de la zone réglementée à l’égard de Globodera rostochiensis (nématode doré) dans la province de l’Alberta.

L’ACIA a déterminé que la zone réglementée était exempte de nématode doré au moyen des critères d’évaluation pour le nématode à kyste de la pomme de terre (NKPT) énoncés à l’annexe 5 des Lignes directrices pour la surveillance et les mesures phytosanitaires relatives aux nématodes à kyste de la pomme de terre (Globodera rostochiensis et Globodera pallida) de 2014 du Canada et des États-Unis.

La province de l’Alberta est maintenant considérée exempte de nématode à kyste de la pomme de terre.

Conformément aux lignes directrices énoncées dans la norme internationale pour les mesures phytosanitaires no 8 (Détermination de la situation d’un organisme nuisible dans une zone), il est considéré que Globodera rostochiensis est présent au Canada : il est peu répandu et fait l’objet d’un contrôle officiel.
