Suitable host species include more than 10 Eucalyptus species namely: Eucalyptus saligna, E. camaldulensis, E. grandis, E. globulus, E. robusta, E. botryoides, E. bridgesiana, E. cinerea, E. nicholli, E. rudis, E. viminalis, E. gunii, E. tereticornis. But the preliminary studies conducted in South of Mozambique the pest attaks E. saligna and E. camaldulensis and in the Centre attack clone and hybrid of E. grandis and E. camaldulensis

Краткое описание

In order to do the motoring and management of the pest, it´s important and urgent to undertake a survey of the local occurrence and prevent the entry of eucalyptus seedlings in the country. Up to date we are loocking for some funds in order to conduct the surveillance in the whole country.

Опасность
The attack may occur in both nursery and in young plantations at an immature age. The developing larvae form bump-shaped galls on the leaf midribs, petioles and stems of new growth of young eucalypt trees, coppice and nursery seedlings. Severe infestations of this pest plants may have reduced development.
