Mango fruit borer has been confirmed from a number of sites in the Darwin area of Northern Territory. It is considered not to be eradicable given its known distribution in Northern Territory. It is not known to occur in the other mango growing regions in the NT. Other mango growning regions of Australia are a great distance from the identified area.

Mango fruit borer attacks developing mango fruit and cashews. Damaged fruit are easily recognised and abort before maturity and would not reach packing process.
