摘要

Denmark declares the following more precise pest status:

Present in some fields with 4 places of production exclusively of ware potatoes for local industrial processing into starch. Under official control.

The latest outbreak in Denmark of S. endobioticum had been eradicated in 1989. Since then the pest have been under surveillance through official inspections of, in particular, seed potato tubers and fields for seed potato growing.

In 2014 S. endobioticum was found with one starch potato grower, and during subsequent delimiting surveys, with further two starch potato growers in that same municipality. With the delimiting survey, intensive soil or tuber testing have been carried out.

Phytosanitary measures have included the following: Infested fields have been banned from growing of potatoes and plants for planting for a minimum of 10 or 15 years. After that period, official soil tests shall be repeated as a basis for any further official decisions as to the future use of the fields. Buffer zones have been created around all infested fields, Further requirements concern the removal of re-growth and host weed, cleaning of machinery etc.

In November 2016, the pest was found with another starch potato grower in that same municipality. Similar phytosanitary measures have been applied to the relevant fields.

Danger
On top of the phytosanitary actions with infested places of production the Danish NPPO considers firm restrictions to depositing of industrial waste and by-products as being the most important phytosanitary measure for future prevention of spread and eventual eradication. Delimiting surveys as well as intensified specific surveillance shall continue.
