NEW IPPC e-learning course: Mobilizing resources for plant health

Is your country equipped to secure the resources needed to protect plant health? The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce the launch of a new e-learning Mobilizing resources for plant health, available on the IPPC Plant Health Campus.

This self-paced e-learning course is designed to support plant health professionals, particularly those working within an NPPO, by enhancing their understanding of the importance of resource mobilization, focusing on sustainable financing and partnerships.

The course is part of a growing library of certified e-learning resources developed by the IPPC Secretariat and the FAO elearning Academy. Visit the IPPC Plant Health Campus and take the course here.

The IPPC Plant Health Campus is a free, multilingual platform offering e-learning courses, guides, and tools accessible to all.

Who should enroll? The main audience of this course is NPPO staff, particularly heads of NPPOs and NPPO decision makers, managers and supervisors. However, the course may be of interest to phytosanitary capacity evaluation (PCE) facilitators and coordinators, NPPO stakeholders and NPPO partners.

This course aims to help NPPOs understand the importance of resource mobilization and enhance their ability to mobilize funds, focusing on sustainable financing and partnerships. The course also explores various internal and external funding options for NPPOs and strategies for effectively engaging with potential partners.

You will learn about:

  • The importance of resource mobilization.
  • The five-step approach to resource mobilization designed by FAO.
  • Approaches to build successful long-term relationships with resource partners.
  • Various internal and external funding options available to NPPOs.
  • Strategies for engaging with potential partners to enhance funding opportunities.

Upon completion, participants earn a digital badge certifying the skills acquired—supporting professional development and recognition. Learners are encouraged to share their badge on platforms such as LinkedIn (using the hashtags #planthealth #IPPC_Campus.
