Short Description

The Australian Government is developing new biosecurity legislation to replace the century-old Quarantine Act 1908. The legislation package comprises the Biosecurity Bill 2012 and the Inspector-General of Biosecurity Bill 2012. Both bills were introduced to Parliament on 28 November 2012 and progress can be monitored at www.aph.gov.au. Subordinate legislation is being drafted
