Notification of an outbreak of Phytophthora ramorum on the Crown Dependency of Jersey, detected during a routine annual island-wide survey for P. ramorum. Eradication measures are currently being applied, including the removal and destruction of infected plants and other hosts within a 5 metre radius. Surveys of all major and non-major hosts (as defined by EPPO), including Quercus spp. and Castanea spp. within a 500-metre radius of both outbreak sites revealed no further symptoms of disease. Ongoing surveillance involves monthly inspections and testing of host plants in the demarcated zone.
