Posted on Thu, 29 Jul 2021, 23:49

Deadline on Wed, 01 Sep 2021, 23:55

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is calling for:

Purpose

The Capacity Development Committee (IC) has created an IC Team on Banana Fusarium Wilt (TR4) to develop a brief plan in line with the CPM Focus Group on Pest Outbreak Alert and Response Systems recommendations, compile information on TR4, and develop global materials for prevention, preparedness and response.

Technical resources that provide information on the following Fusarium Wilt (TR4) items will contribute to prevent the introduction and spread of TR4 to places where it is absent:

The submitted materials will be reviewed by the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) against established criteria which help ensure they are assisting with the implementation of core IPPC provisions (obligations, rights, and responsibilities) and International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) and are potentially globally applicable. Materials approved by the IC will be posted on the IPP as Contributed Resources (https://www.ippc.int/en/core-activities/capacity-development/guides-and-training-materials/contributed-resource-list/).

How do I submit resources?

If you have technical resources that you think would be suitable for the above purposes, please e-mail them to the IPPC Secretariat at [email protected] with copy to Camilo Beltran Montoya ([email protected]) (with “TR4 technical resources- COUNTRY NAME” in the subject line) accompanied by a completed submission form (https://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88267/).

It is preferred if the technical resources are provided via a web link to the information, however, if it is not posted on the internet, the resources may be provided by files (pdf, MS PowerPoint, MS Word etc.), and in these cases an FAO permission request form (http://www.ippc.int/en/publications/88268/) must also be completed and submitted along with the material. This gives FAO a non-exclusive license to publish the resources in the FAO Document Repository (http://www.fao.org/documents) and facilitates the sharing of this information by the IPPC Secretariat on the IPP as Contributed Resources.

Languages

Please note that the phytosanitary technical resources can be submitted in any language. However, please ensure that the title and a summary or description of the content of each resource are translated into one of the official FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and in English if possible.

Resources that are submitted in an FAO language will be prioritized for review.

Deadline: Submissions are due 1st September 2021.
