Protecting Japanese Agriculture and Forests - Functions of Plant Protection Stations

This brochure provides information on the functions of Plant Protection Stations, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. Plant Protection Stations function to protect Japan's agriculture and plants. They prevent the introduction of overseas pests that may damage Japanese crops by conducting import quarantine at seaports and airports throughout Japan. They also implement domestic quarantine to prevent the spread of specially designated pests within Japan as well as export quarantine in response to requests from other countries. This brochure is written in both English and Japanese, and includes information on:
