A Queensland Fruit Fly Bactrocera tryoni has been detected in a fruit fly surveillance trap at a residential property in Devonport, Auckland City. A Ministry for Primary Industry entomologist has confirmed the fly is a male Queensland Fruit Fly.

New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries is undertaking further investigations including intensified trapping and fruit monitoring to determine if additional flies are present.
