Distribución geográfica
Around Honiara City. But could extend pending more survey work at risk areas Geographical Distribution Agriculture Research Station, Poste entry Quarantine Station Henderson, Betikama School farm, and Corona Market Tenaru. The pest is capable of natural dispersal over 100 KM in one night and has a broad, available host range. Further detections are likely.

Summary Eradication of Spodoptera frugiperda from Solomon Islands is not considered technically feasible after being reported in Honiara. Activities for fall armyworm based on other countries experience will have to be transitioned to management and are focused on limiting the impact of the pest. Applying phytosanitary measures, other regulatory measures and IPM is now consider All levels of Government and Industry are working together to ensure appropriate long term management options are available to growers and identify research to protect food security, reduce pest spread, awareness and pest reporting among other priorities. Danger These detections are being notified due to recent international interest in the movement of the pest.

Farmers planting corn and rice including vegetables will be affected. There is also potential for the pest to spread to other Islands and region.
