El tercer seminario de la CIPF sobre Fitosanidad y cambio climático se celebró en la Sede de la FAO el 27 de enero. Presidió el seminario el Sr. Jingyuan Xia, titular de la Secretaría de la CIPF, con la asistencia de más de 80 participantes, incluidos representantes de las misiones o embajadas de China, Francia y Sudáfrica. También hubo participantes de Argentina, Canadá, Egipto, Costa de Marfil, EE UU, etc. por medios virtuales. Beyond Compliance: Integrated systems approach for pest risks management in Southeast Asia (STDF/PG/328) 16 - 19th July, 2012

The Mid-Year Review Meeting of the STDF–funded project, ‘Beyond Compliance: Integrated systems approach for pest risks management in Southeast Asia, was held in the Fortuna Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam, from the 16 to 19th July 2012. The project was officially launched by Dr. Hoang Trung, the Deputy Director General of the Plant Protection Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development (MARD), Vietnam.

Scientific session at CPM-6 to examine approaches for addressing pest risks associated with grains and wood

GrainsEach year, the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures holds a “scientific session” to consider emerging issues, such as new technologies or new pest threats. Past scientific sessions have addressed issues such as the potential impact of climate change on pest spread, food aid as a pathway for the transboundary movement of pests, aquatic plants as pests, and flaws in the current system for preventing pest spread.
