Limited travel funds are available for researchers to attend Phytosanitary Measures Research Group meeting in July 2017

PMRG

The Phytosanitary Measures Research Group (PMRG) provides a mechanism where critical phytosanitary treatment issues can be addressed through discussion and collaborative research. The group is comprised of around 75 researchers and regulators and meets approximately every two years. It is anticipated that approximately 25 researchers will attend the upcoming meeting.

Registration

The Phytosanitary Measures Research Group (PMRG) is seeking expressions of interest from suitable treatment researchers and regulators wishing to attend and contribute to the upcoming meeting of the PMRG to be held in Wageningen, the Netherlands, 10-13 July 2107. Limited funds for travel assistance is available for eligible researchers from developing countries. Travel Assistance

If you would like to apply for travel assistance please submit a request to Joanne Wilson with the following: 1. A cover letter outlining: a. why you think you should be funded b. how the world will benefit from your participation c. future plans relevant to phytosanitation 2. A copy of your CV with a list of relevant phytosanitary treatment research or assessment, and publications.

Criteria for prioritizing travel assistance: - how relevant and applicable your research is to phytosanitary measures - how involved you currently are in developing phytosanitary treatments - your expertise in phytosanitary treatments - the value you can add to the group and IPPC treatment standards development objectives - ensuring geographical representation of participants - IPPC criteria for prioritizing participants for travel assistance (https://www.ippc.int/en/publications/criteria-used-prioritizing-participants-receive-travel-assistance-attend-meetings/) As their will be no interpretation at this meeting, knowledge of English is essential.

Please send your expression of interest and supporting documents to Joanne Wilson, Secretary PMRG ([email protected]) by 15 June 2017. Your application will be evaluated by the PMRG executive committee and successful applicants will be informed.
