Working Groups

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) implementation and capacity development guides and training materials are tools that guide and assist in the implementation of the IPPC, ISPMs and CPM-recommendations through providing:

• Accurate and easy to understand technical information;

• Best practices to facilitate the establishment and operation of national phytosanitary systems ;

• A basis for countries, NPPOs and relevant stakeholders, to develop national strategies, policies, legislation, guides, SOPs, training materials and courses;

• A basis for building national phytosanitary capacities.

To ensure high quality of results, these IPPC guides and training materials are developed under the direction of the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) through an open, transparent and inclusive process, which is documented in the IPPC Procedure Manual for Implementation and Capacity Development.

IPPC guides and training materials are developed by selected international experts under the coordination of the IPPC Secretariat. The experts meet in Working Groups where their technical inputs contribute to guidance materials that are consistent with relevant ISPMs and constitute an effective and practical tool for the IPPC community, particularly for NPPOs.

Technical meeting reports of all Working Groups for the developments of IPPC guides and training materials are published in this section.
