1. Before the meeting

This necessitates the timely and formal submission—through diplomatic representations to the FAO, and a note signed by the Minister of Agriculture or Foreign Affairs -- of the list of participants of each country, including the head of delegation, his alternate, and his advisers. Accreditations should be undertaken through diplomatic representations to the FAO in Rome. Online registration is accesible through the password-protected  FAO  Permanent Representative Website (PRWS) at (http://permrep.fao.org).  A password is needed for access. Instructions for online registration may be downloaded from the same website. Credentials of representatives and the names of alternate representatives and advisers shall be submitted to the IPPC Secretariat.  If credentials are submitted  by  fax or by email, the original should also be  submitted upon registration on the first day of the meeting.

Participants requiring an entry visa must obtain these from the Italian Consulate or Diplomatic Mission in their country before leaving for Rome. Visa applications should be submitted well in advance of departure date, since the issuance of an Italian visa may take up to three weeks.

Developing countries may receive support to facilitate their participation in meetings. Requests for financial support for participation should be sumitted to the IPPC Secretariat.

The meeting agenda is made available on the IPPC website. All documents for discussion at the CPM meeting –including draft ISPM  proposed for adoption—are made available several months in advance.
