Participation in the CPM

Between December and February of each year, the Director General of the FAO, extends an invitation to members to attend the CPM meeting, stating the date of the meeting, enclosing a provisional agenda and reporting that all documents will be made available on the IPPC website, International Phytosanitary Portal (IPP) (https://www.ippc.int).

Each contracting party should submit to the Director General of the FAO, the names of all persons (the head of delegation and his alternate, experts and advisers) nominated by that member to represent him during the session. The invitation circulated to the NPPOs highlights the accreditation processes to be followed, drawing attention to the time frame within which the contracting parties must inform the Director General of the FAO the names of the representatives nominated to attend the meeting, as provided in Article 1 of the CPM Rules of Procedure. 

Failure to properly follow the process of accreditation for the meeting, will result in the suspension of participants’ right to vote.
