(Follow-up and Extension of the Original Call)
Deadline for Proposal Submission is Friday, 30 Jan 2026
Following the strong interest generated by the initial call and strong interest from the phytosanitary community in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital solutions and smart plant health, this extended call offers an opportunity for additional contributors to showcase applied AI solutions. The deadline for submitting proposals has been extended to 30 January 2026.
The IPPC Secretariat invites NPPOs, RPPOs, and accredited organizations attending CPM-20 to submit proposals for booths, demonstrations or posters for the Plant Health Innovation Fair to be held Friday 13 March 2026 from 10:00 to 13:00.
The Innovation Fair will have two primary focuses:
Climate Science and Smart Tech: Demonstrate how climate science, modelling tools, immersive technologies, and NPPO-level field innovations support concrete implementation for early warning, preparedness, and rapid response.
Artificial Intelligence and Smart Plant Health: Demonstrate how emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and digital tools offer the potential to improve the efficiency of phytosanitary programs, including data management, quarantine inspections, risk-based sampling, pest monitoring, ePhyto, e-Commerce and other program activities.
This event will bring together CPM delegates, IPPC partners, NPPOs, RPPOs, scientists, and private-sector representatives attending CPM-20.
Submissions should align with one of the following thematic areas:
Climate and modelling tools, including horizon scanning, AI analytics, GIS tools,
Immersive simulation technologies for pest outbreak simulations, VR tools, and interactive emergency systems.
Field-ready inspection, diagnostic, and surveillance tools, including drone surveillance, mobile apps, portable diagnostics, smart traps, sensors, etc.
AI innovations developed and implemented by contracting parties to support phytosanitary regulatory activities, AI tools available to support advancements in plant health, plant quarantine and plant pest and disease management.
Poster gallery on country experiences with climate science and/or artificial intelligence to include case studies, diagnostic/surveillance analyses, regional initiatives, new research, outbreak response, or innovation in practice
Submission Categories
Applicants may submit proposals under one of the following formats:
Demonstration booth for field tools, devices, applications, or equipment,
Demonstration booth for an interactive simulation or training tool,
Poster (case study, research result, diagnostic or surveillance performance, regional initiative, emerging pest management).
Type (booth, demonstration, poster, or case study)
Short description (max. 150 words)
Institution and contact person
Space or technical requirements (if applicable)
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be assessed based on:
Technical relevance to pests early warning, preparedness, or response
Practical implementation potential for NPPOs or regional partners
Innovation and added value
Diversity of regions and institutions
Deadline
Please submit your proposal by 30th January, 2026, to [email protected] with a copy to Camilo Beltran, Agricultural Officer ([email protected]) and Russell Caplen, Agricultural Officer ([email protected]) with the subject line: “Submission – CPM-20 Innovation Fair”
