Call for Topics for the Strategic Planning Group (SPG, October 2013) and CPM9 (April 2014)

Posted on Tue, 28 May 2013, 16:00

The International Plant Protection Secretariat requests contracting parties to propose topics (new topics or current topics requiring additional emphasis or review) for the upcoming Strategic Planning Group (SPG) by no later than Friday, June 7, 2013. A final decision on the topics to be addressed will be made by the CPM Bureau by September 9, 2013. For the purposes of this call, the suggestions do not have to be detailed, but the suggestions should have a sentence stating the topic with an additional 2-3 lines of explanation. Following the Bureau’s discussion in June and additional input from the TC-RPPO, the Bureau’s decision will be reported to contracting parties in September. Brief (no more than 3 pages) discussion papers on the topics accepted for the SPG must be prepared and submitted by the proposing contracting party no later than September 20th. Please note that this new process has been introduced to provide more transparency in identifying new topics, to provide more coverage on topics within limited Secretariat resources and to give more opportunities for contracting parties to participate in CPM discussions at an earlier stage.
