Short Description

Public Quarantine Alert PQA0742 Public Quarantine alert 17 August 2011 Import conditions for fresh apple fruit from New Zealand Regional Officers, Importers and Brokers are advised that the import requirements for fresh apples from New Zealand for human consumption are now published on the Import Conditions (ICON) database (www.aqis.gov.au/ICON). Effective immediately, all imported fresh apples from New Zealand can be imported into Australia. Each consignment must be accompanied by a valid import permit and an official government Phytosanitary Certificate. All other conditions in ICON will apply. Importers are reminded that an Import Permit must be obtained prior to importation.
