Summary

Monochamus galloprovincialis has been found in kairomon traps in one Pinus spp. Nature conservation plantation in the South Western part of Denmark in 2016. Through more than decade of surveillance for Monochamus spp., this is the first indication of an established population of Monochamus spp. in Denmark.

Monochamus spp. including Monochamus galloprovincialis have not been found in any other parts of Denmark.

Danger
European Monochamus spp. are not considered quarantine pests for Denmark. However, Monochamus spp. Are under official surveillance for their vectoring potential. Trapped Monochamus specimen are thus continuously being tested, and no quarantine pests have been found with the specimen.
