For decades the Danish NPPO has carried out official inspections, soil sampling and testing for the presence of potato vyst nematodes in all Danish fields proposed for seed potato production.

Additionally, a range of fields for ware potatoes growing are being offcially surveyed through soil sampling and testing.

Futhermore, outdoor plant nursery production sites are being officially tested for the presence of potato cyst nematodes prior to production commencement. Globodera pallida has never been found in fields assigned for seeed potato production in Denmark, and has been completely absent in Denmark for 25 years.

In 2012, Globodera pallida was found in four fields at two growers with ware potato production. The two outbreaks are under eradication.
