Short Description

• Council Directive 2000/29/EC as amended sets out the restrictions and protective measures which aim to protect plant health within the European Union. The phytosanitary import requirements are specified in Annexes IV.A.I and IV.B of the Directive. Annex III of the Directive then specifies import prohibitions. • Section I of Part A of Annex IV (page 74) of the Plant Health Directive 2000/29/EC lists specific phytosanitary import requirements, which plants and plant products imported into the EU shall comply with. • Part B of Annex IV (page 136) of the Plant Health Directive 2000/29/EC specifies phytosanitary import requirements that shall be complied with by imports into specific Protected Zones in the European Union. • Annex III (page 70) of the Plant Health Directive 2000/29/EC lists plants, plant products and other objects the introduction of which, if, where appropriate, of specified origin, into the European Union is banned.
