Publication date
30-08-2018
Description of the mark

The NPPO Ghana is supported by government legislations that permits Ghana to take on board the ePhyto system. These legislations are: The Plants and Fertilizer Act, 2010 (Act 803) and the Plant Protection Regulations, 2012 (L.I 2193)

A team of Consultants from the IPPC helped Ghana to conduct assessment of its Business Operations (Business Process Analysis), trained NPPO staff and its Stakeholders on the Generic ePhyto National System (GeNS) and the Hub.

In collaboration with Ghana Community Network Services Limited (GCNet), works have begun on the automation of PPRSD permit processes (application, issuance and payment system)

The NPPO Ghana has carried out sensitization for some key stakeholders -exporters, importer, Customs etc. on the Electronic Phytosanitary Certification piloting in Ghana. The training/awareness creation is ongoing and shall continue and be extended to more stakeholders (Exporters, Importers, Customs Officials, Immigration, Port handlers, etc.) in preparation for piloting the ePhyto system.
