Summary

Dialeurodes citri was first identified in New Caledonia in Noumea in the South province in February 2023 on a lemon tree in a residential area. Since this detection, prospections have been conducted in order to confirm the presence of this pest and to assess its distribution mainly in nurseries and in citrus orchards in New Caledonia. Ongoing investigations even if it seems to be present in several country areas.

Danger
At the moment no major damage has been noted on citrus production. Indeed many parasitoids and beneficials installed in New Caledonia are listed.
