تلتزم سلطنة عمان، ممثلة في وزارة الثروة الزراعية والسمكية وموارد المياه، بتطبيق أعلى معايير الصحة النباتية لحماية التنوع البيولوجي والقطاع الزراعي الوطني.

تُعد دائرة الحجر الزراعي بوزارة الثروة الزراعية والسمكية وموارد المياه المنظمة الوطنية لوقاية النباتات (NPPO) في سلطنة عُمان، وهي الجهة المختصة بتنفيذ أحكام الاتفاقية الدولية لوقاية النباتات (IPPC) وتطبيق التشريعات والتدابير الصحية النباتية المعتمدة. تتولى الدائرة مسؤولية حماية الموارد النباتية الوطنية من دخول وانتشار الآفات الزراعية، من خلال تنظيم حركة النباتات والمنتجات النباتية والمواد الخاضعة للوائح، وتنفيذ إجراءات الحجر الزراعي، والتفتيش الصحي النباتي، وضمان الالتزام بالمعايير الدولية لتدابير الصحة النباتية (ISPMs). كما تعمل الدائرة على تعزيز صحة النباتات وسلامة التجارة الزراعية من خلال التعاون مع المنظمات الدولية والإقليمية ذات العلاقة، وتطبيق أفضل الممارسات في مجال وقاية النباتات.

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, is committed to implementing the highest phytosanitary standards to protect national biodiversity and the agricultural sector.

The Plant Quarantine Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is the designated National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of the Sultanate of Oman. It is the competent authority responsible for implementing the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and enforcing national phytosanitary legislation and measures. The Department is responsible for protecting national plant resources against the introduction and spread of plant pests through the regulation of plants, plant products, and other regulated articles, implementation of plant quarantine procedures, phytosanitary inspections, and ensuring compliance with the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs). The Department also contributes to safeguarding plant health and facilitating safe agricultural trade through cooperation with relevant regional and international organizations and the implementation of best practices in plant protection.
