Short Description

Some of the alien invasive species that have been observed to affect biological diversity and agricultural production are water hyacinth, paper mulberry, water cabbage, mesquite and banana bunchy top virus (BBTV). It is believed that eucalyptus and neem will impact in the future. BBTV has received higher attention and disease free stock has developed and distributed among the growers. The disease is now under control and banana production has picked up.
