Short Description

Currently, the Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service (PQPS) has positioned gazetted Plant Health Inspectors (PHIs) at entry/exit points with high agricultural commodities traffic. The borders include; Chirundu and Livingstone bordering Zimbabwe, Kazungula bordering Bostwana, Sesheke bordering Namibia, Mwamwi bordering Malawi, Nakonde bordering Tanzania, Kasumbalesa bordering Congo D.R. However, PQPS has also strengthened its inland phytosanitary monitoring system by positioning PHIs at valid intersection points such as Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Kasama, Mpika, Ndola and Kafue. The Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) has PHIs and the Headquarters in Chilanga.
