WTO-SPS June Meeting

The IPPC Secretariat participated as an observer at this week’s meeting at the World Trade Organization’s Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures in Geneva, Switzerland. During the meeting, the Secretariat provided three important interventions to the Committee concerning the recent developments from the eighth Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in April, updates on recent and forthcoming capacity development activities, as well as the status of and forthcoming programs for the Implementation Review and Support System (IRSS). June Bureau meeting demonstrates progress from CPM-8

On 11-14 June 2013, the CPM Bureau met in Rome to discuss the progress and activities of the IPPC since the 8th Commission on Phytosanitary Measures that took place in April 2013. Member Consultation on draft specifications has started

The IPPC 2013 member consultation on draft specifications has started on 1 June. The consultation period ends on 31 July 2013 and the IPPC Secretariat must have received all comments before that date. Comments should be submitted through the IPPC Online Comment System (OCS), where draft specifications are posted. 2013 December - Expert Consultation on Cold Treatments (ECCT) Buenos Aires, Argentina The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is soliciting nominations for qualified experts and scientists to participate in the Expert Consultation on Cold Treatments to identify collect and evaluate information on existing cold treatments that are needed for regulated pests and regulated articles and that may be implemented at a global level.
