The CPM Bureau members discussed several items listed on the CPM-16 agenda, and consulted on the best ways to provide support to the CPM Chairperson, Mr Lucien Konan Kouamé, together with the IPPC Secretariat. The CPM Bureau hold virtual sessions on a monthly basis since 2020 but during today's the bureau members discussed the potential return plan for in person meetings.

Discussions on physical presence in CPM-17 meeting

The CPM Bureau’s contributions through the COVID-19 pandemic have helped the IPPC community to coordinate at the regional level in preparing for CPM-16. This has allowed the CPM Bureau to expand its capacity and ability to operate at the global level too, which was incredibly instrumental for the CPM-15 successful edition. However, there has been an increased interest for physical meeting over the past year and CPM Bureau members wished to hold CPM-17 in Rome next year.
