IPPC Guides are now available in more languages thanks to collaboration with COLEACP

Posted on Fri, 06 Nov 2020, 08:00

We are pleased to inform you that French versions of eight IPPC Guides have been published in collaboration with the Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Liaison Committee (COLEACP). We would like to take this opportunity to thank COLEACP for their collaboration in helping to translate and disseminate these Guides.

These Guides are now available on the International Phytosanitary Portal (IPP) in several languages, as indicated below:

The IPPC Secretariat is seeking opportunities to disseminate the IPPC Guides and training materials in languages to help Contracting Parties (CPs) implement the Convention and ISPMs.

Please contact the IPPC Secretariat ([email protected]) if you would like to contribute toward translating any of IPPC Guides into additional FAO languages, thereby making these valuable implementation and capacity development resources more accessible to CPs around the world.

IPPC Guides and training materials

IPPC Guides and training materials are tools that guide and assist in the implementation of the IPPC, ISPMs and CPM Recommendations through providing:

  • Accurate and easy to understand technical information
  • Best practices to facilitate the establishment and operation of national phytosanitary systems
  • A basis for countries, NPPOs and relevant stakeholders, to develop national strategies, policies, legislation, guides, SOPs, training materials and courses
  • A basis for building national phytosanitary capacities.

We are inviting all stakeholders to consult with the IPP page dedicated to IPPC Guides and training materials available at https://www.ippc.int/en/core-activities/capacity-development/guides-and-training-materials/ to find out more information on the materials available.
