IPPC to participate in University of Brescia’s plant health conference

The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to inform the plant health community of its participation at the upcoming 3rd edition of the Conference on “From Plant Health to Community Health” on Friday 20 October 2023. Avetik Nersisyan, lead of the Standard Setting Unit at the secretariat, will represent Osama El-Lissy, IPPC Secretary. The conference will focus on technological and sensor aspects related to agricultural production with respect to sustainability and conservation of ecosystem biodiversity.

It will bring together professionals from prominent scientific, governance and institutional authorities to deliberate on the importance of developing innovative tools, in terms of data collection, portability, flexibility, efficient use and transmission of information, that can monitor the plant health status and report stress events in real time and directly from the field, to prevent yield loss and reduced crop quality.
