A very special year has ended where we faced many difficulties, challenges and lessons learned.

2020 has been declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH). Within the framework of this celebration, together with other public and private agricultural sectors, Senasa Argentina has boosted several activities to promote our actions and the relevance of plant health for the sustainability of agricultural and food systems, as well as to protect the environment and ecosystems.

Owing to COVID circumstances, we had to adapt to a virtual modality through which we were able to reach more than 15,600 views of 13 webinars conducted. These seminars are available on a site dedicated to the IYPH within the Senasa website (only in Spanish).

Likewise, we use our social networks to spread the IYPH key messages and also to communicate the actions of the Argentina plant pest programs. We have also launched other initiatives as for example #lunesdeflores (flowers Monday), which represent a unique opportunity to reflect on the importance of plant care.

With the aim of continuing to promote the messages about the International Year of Plant Health, FAO has extended the commemoration of the IYPH until June 30, 2021. For this reason, we will continue working on the subject. We kindly invite all of you to follow us on social networks to find out more about the actions we take to protect the national phytosanitary heritage: FB: @SenasaARG; TW: @SenasaAR; IG: @senasaargentina

We wish you all a great 2021!

Let's plant future.

Protecting plants, protecting life.
