Important decisions on rescheduling of IPPC governing and subsidiary body meetings

The current COVID-19 pandemic has forced the CPM Bureau, in coordination with the IPPC Secretariat and FAO, to make necessary adjustments to the schedule of IPPC governing and subsidiary bodies.

The Bureau agreed to reschedule the frequency, capacity and modality of the meetings as follows during the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond as necessary:

• The pre-scheduled June/July CPM-15 meeting be postponed until further notice.
• CPM Bureau to meet virtually on a monthly basis, adopting a very structured approach and addressing the key selected elements, with the possibility to hold additional meetings if any matter is deemed urgent.
• Finance Committee meeting be held virtually at least once in the first semester of 2020.
• May 2020 Standards Committee and Implementation and Capacity Development Committee meetings be cancelled while keeping the November 2020 ones scheduled.
• Strategic Planning Group and Technical Consultation among RPPOs meetings be postponed until further notice.
