We would like to inform you that the IPPC Secretariat is currently reviewing communications efforts to improve awareness of the IPPC and its work. As part of that, we have developed a survey that will help us to obtain a clear understanding of the IPPC''s audiences and how they receive information about the IPPC and advocacy material. This survey will also show how the IPPC Communications Strategy, adopted at CPM-8 (2013), is being implemented in your country. The survey will be sent this week to all official IPPC Contact Points and participation will provide crucial information to the Secretariat. To assist us with this process, we have been working with a professional communications company, Green Ink, and their Senior Communications Strategist, Jeremy Cherfas. Green Ink specializes in providing strategic support to help organisations communicate more effectively and efficiently. They will collect data from this survey, evaluate the results, and use them to help to strengthen the current communications strategy. The IPPC Secretariat will then use the results and assessments to design the IPPC communications work plan. As we are rapidly approaching the next session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-9), we would like to emphasize how important it is that we receive your survey responses and suggestions as quickly as possible. In this way, we will have time to evaluate the data and design a work plan based on your communication needs. Please feel free to consult with relevant National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) staff and other stakeholders where necessary. We very much appreciate your assistance.
