Contracting parties, governments, United Nations agencies, inter-governmental, nongovernmental, regional and international organizations are invited to organize a side event during the 8th session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) to be held in Rome, Italy from 8 to 12 April 2013.

These events and any information presented should have direct relevance to the purpose and activities of the IPPC. (https://www.ippc.int/about/what).

Please also bear in mind the following:

Organizers who are not part of an official delegation (e.g. those from non-governmental agencies) will be able to observe the plenary session but will not be able to take the floor. As an organizer, you are able to share information and demonstrate your materials in the side event but the rules of the Food and Agriculture Organization prohibit you from selling materials and conducting transactions. You may provide contact details but direct sales are not allowed. The information that you provide is on behalf of your organization and does not necessarily reflect the views of or presume endorsement by the IPPC Secretariat, CPM or FAO, and it should not be represented as such. Please indicate your intention to organize a side event by completing the attached registration form at your earliest convenience but no later than 8th March 2013. Please also note that there will be a limit to the number of side events and you should therefore respond as soon as possible. All participating organizations are kindly requested to make a contribution (suggested donation of 210 USD or more) to the IPPC trust fund to cover basic costs. Organizations are required to cover all additional costs, such as provision of audio-visual equipment associated with side events. Should your organization have requirements that incur a cost to the IPPC Secretariat, we will contact you regarding the recovery of these costs.
