The following draft ISPMs are for open commenting:
(1) Draft 2017 Amendments to ISPM 5: Glossary of phytosanitary terms (1994-001)
(2) Draft ISPM: International movement of cut flowers and foliage (2008-005)
(3) Draft ISPM: Requirements for the use of fumigation as a phytosanitary measure (2014-004)
(4) Draft annex to ISPM 27: Xylella fastidiosa (2004-024)

NPPOs are encouraged to provide information in response to a call by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on the following issues:
a) Addressing the risks associated with trade in wildlife, invasive alien species sold via e-commerce, and invasive alien species moving with sea containers;
b) Risk analysis on biological control agents;
c) Decision support tools for management of invasive alien species; and
d) The progress on the achievement of Aichi Biodiversity Target 9.

An intense week to draft an International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) on authorization of entities to perform phytosanitary actions has been concluded successfully. The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) have a very strong cooperation with the European Commission (EC). The Secretariat to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is holding a capacity-building workshop towards achieving Aichi Biodiversity Target 9, scheduled to take place from 18 to 22 September 2017 in Kingston, Jamaica. This workshop is open to CBD Parties of small island developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean. The Phytosanitary Measures Research Group (PMRG) provides a mechanism where critical phytosanitary treatment issues can be addressed through discussion and collaborative research. The group is comprised of around 75 researchers and regulators and meets approximately every two years. It is anticipated that approximately 25 researchers will attend the upcoming meeting.
